What is Economy Class Syndrome (Venous thromboembolism)?

This syndrome occurs when you remain seated for a long time without changing your posture, and blood clots (thrombus) form within a vein.  If the blood clot clogs the blood vessels, you may experience breathing difficulty (Dyspnea). In the worst case it will result in death.

To prevent the syndrome, it is important to facilitate blood circulation and stay well hydrated

Let’s do some easy exercises!.

On a chair

Curl and uncurl your toes.

Move your feet up and down on tiptoes.

Massage your calves.

Hug your knees and rotate your ankles with your feet relaxed.

Lying down on your back

Hip-lifting exercise: Lift your hip from the floor.

Leg muscle exercise; Raise your leg and hold it for 10 seconds. Alternate legs.

Weight-supporting exercise; One foot at a time. Kick outward with full strength.
